Did You Hear About The New Hawaii Law?
Hawaii property owners should be aware of important state requirements regarding existing cesspools. Under Hawaii Act 125, all cesspools must be upgraded or converted to an approved wastewater system, such as a septic system, aerobic treatment unit, or municipal sewer connection, no later than January 1, 2050. In certain situations, including major property renovations or homes located in environmentally sensitive areas, upgrades may be required sooner. These regulations were established to help protect Hawaii's drinking water, groundwater aquifers, coastal ecosystems, and public health from wastewater contamination.
At Johnson's Plumbing Inc., we help homeowners and property owners throughout Oʻahu navigate the cesspool conversion process with confidence. Our experienced team can assess your property's existing wastewater system, explain available conversion options, and provide professional plumbing services to support your upgrade project. Whether you're planning ahead for compliance or have received notice that your property requires an expedited conversion, we're here to provide reliable guidance and quality workmanship every step of the way.
Contact Johnson's Plumbing Inc. today to learn more about your cesspool conversion options and ensure your property is prepared for Hawaii's future wastewater requirements.
